BUDDING reporters have the chance to win an action-packed day at the Advertiser and see their story in print.

By entering our fantastic competition you could be part of our award-winning team for the day.

This is a rare chance for an aspiring journalist of primary school age to pick up a notepad, find a scoop and then come back to write it up in our bustling offices.

The winner will be picked up from home with an accompanying adult and arrive for work in style in the Advertiser vintage coach.

You will sit in on the editor's conference when tough decisions about where the stories and pictures will appear in the newspaper will be made.

Once it has been decided where your story will go in the paper, you will see how the designers create the page and put the story and pictures in place.

Then you will be taken to Oxford to see the newspaper being printed on our fabulous new press.

You will travel back to Swindon in a delivery van and see the paper being sold in the town.

Your name will be in print for everyone to read and you will have helped bring our paper to our readers.

Evening Advertiser editor Mark Waldron said: "Having your story published could be the beginning of a glittering career in journalism.

"Being at the forefront of the issues of the day is something that is both challenging and exciting.

"This is a great chance for one of our younger readers to be featured in their favourite local newspaper."

For a chance to win this day at the Advertiser, send us a story you would like to have published.

It should be a maximum of 200 words and could be about yourself, your family, your school or your friends.

It should be a story that other people would like to read about and one which has a new angle.

To enter, complete the form in today's Evening Advertiser and send it with your story to arrive by Wednesday to: Adver Day Competition, Newsquest, 100 Victoria Road, Swindon SN1 3BE.
