TALENTED youngsters from six schools will be showing off their skills at the Wyvern Theatre next month.
Rehearsals have begun for the show of work by pupils at Ruskin Juniors, Greenmeadow Primary, Eastrop Infants, St Catherine's Primary, Even Swindon and North View Primary in Highworth.
Jacki Pattenden, director of creative arts at Ruskin Junior School and the driving force behind the event, wanted to find a way to make the most of the work the children have been doing in after-school clubs, particularly dance and musical performances.
She said: "The show will be unique in Swindon, providing a platform to showcase the many creative things these young children do.
"Some of the children have already said they are quite nervous about performing in the Wyvern, because of the size of the theatre and the number of people in there.
"They will be performing in orchestras, dancing and other performances. It should be quite a show."
Already, more than 300 tickets have sold for the show on June 7.
Money raised by the event will go back to the schools to cover their costs, and Jacki hopes to include more schools in the initiative in the future.
The show runs from 7.30 until 9.15pm.
Tickets are priced £5 for adults and £3 for under 16s.
