Gloucestershire are on the brink of sealing their first Frizzell County Championship victory of the season, ending the third day against Glamorgan needing only another 60 to win today.

Spinners Upul Chandana and Ian Fisher claimed nine wickets between them as Glamorgan were bowled out for 345 leaving the visitors a target of 119 with more than a day remaining.

At the close Gloucestershire were 59 for three after losing both openers Craig Spearman and Philip Weston, who played no shot to Dean Cosker and Robert Croft respectively.

And before the close skipper Chris Taylor was also out lbw to Cosker.

At one stage Gloucestershire looked as if they might have claimed the extra half an hour to wrap up the contest but in the end settled for finishing it in the morning.

Glamorgan, who were on course to lose their first three championship games for the first time since 1922, had resumed the third morning on 93-1 still needing a further 134 to avoid an innings defeat.

But some positive batting from Elliott and especially David Hemp meant that by lunch Glamorgan had wiped out the arrears.

Gloucestershire began the day with the twin spin option of Chandana and Fisher but it was Glamorgan that got on top.

Hemp did not hold back on his way to a 68-ball half-century.

Eight overs before lunch Hemp was caught behind off Jon Lewis from a bottom edge to end a second-wicket partnership worth 103 in 26 overs.

In the afternoon Glamorgan looked like they were going to make hay after Gloucestershire skipper Chris Taylor's decision to enforce the follow-on.

The fightback was led by Elliott who became the first Glamorgan batsman of the season to pass three figures in the championship.

But they then proceeded to lose their last seven wickets for the addition of only 71 runs as Chandana collected 5-117 and Fisher 4-89.
