INTREPID explorer David Hempleman-Adams is set to break yet another world record.

The dare-devil is hoping to break the record for the highest formal dinner party, at 25,000 feet.

And, famous British explorer, Bear Grylls and Lt Commander Alan Veal will join him in this latest mission.

Mr Hempleman-Adams, who was born in Swindon, will fly the Champagne Mumm balloon up to 25,000 feet. Once the balloon has reached full altitude, Bear Grylls and Mr Veal will climb 40 feet from the balloon basket down to a formally laid dinner table suspended underneath the balloon.

They will eat a three-course meal and toast the Queen before skydiving back to land.

The diners will have to brave freezing temperatures and will use oxygen tanks to breathe during the stunt.

The latest adventure is one in a long line for Mr Hempleman-Adams.

His past achievements include becoming the first man to walk alone to the North Pole and crossing the Atlantic in a balloon.

He also became the first person to pilot an open-basket balloon to the North Pole in 2000.

And in 1986 he became the first Briton to walk solo and unsupported to the South Pole.
