A thrilling finish at Chippenham saw the home side tie their Wilts Junior League under 11 Red match with South Wilts.
Thomas Cowley (15) and Harry Hawkins (11) helped the visitors reach 58-7 in their 20 overs. The Chippenham bowling was led by the Brothwood brothers with Guy taking 2-8 and Harry 2-1. Josh Bull led the Chippenham reply with a fine innings of 27 and three runs were needed off the last over.
The South Wilts' players kept their nerve and managed to restrict Chippenham to just two runs to leave Chippenham on 58-5 and the match was tied (Chippenham 9 points, South Wilts 8 points).
Tom Richards (36 not out) and Jack Haines (29) gave the Calne innings an excellent start with an opening partnership of 61. Richards also received valuable support from Jonathan Whytehead as Calne totalled an impressive 113-3.
Hugh Hudson-Wall (40) dominated the Corsham reply but the other batsmen struggled against the bowling of Qasim Ali Javid (3 for 7 with all three wickets coming in four balls) and Ben Wickens (3 for 13). Corsham were dismissed for 91 to leave Calne winners by 22 runs (Calne 18 points, Corsham 3 points).
Devasting bowling by Cannings resulted in visitors Devizes being dismissed for just 13 in 10 overs. Matthew Lever took 4-1 and the other wickets were shared by Tom Alsop, Gabriel Farrell and Jack Davies.
Cannings knocked off the runs for the loss of just one wicket in six overs (Cannings 18 points, Devizes 0 points).
Under 11 Blue
Biddestone were dismissed for 39 at Swindon as P.Ellis (3-9), N. Sellandrai (2-4) and David Miles (2-8) did the damage. Despite losing two early wickets, Miles (24 not out) steered his side to victory by eight wickets with eight overs in hand (Swindon 18 points, Biddestone 1 point).
Purton batted first at Wootton Bassett and, after losing a couple of quick wickets to Greg Davis, recovered through a fine innings by Craig Miles.
Miles was eventually out for a hard hit 49 in the last over as Purton totalled 68-4 in their 20 overs. Opener Stuart Coates (33) paced his innings superbly for Bassett but the support from the other end just wasn't quite enough as Bassett finished four runs short with five wickets down (Wootton Bassett 3 points, Purton 13 points).
Malmesbury managed 58-2 at Shrivenham with Theo Blundell and Oliver Thomas both scoring 12 not out. Tom Swann bowled very accurately, conceding just two runs in his four overs.
Swann then opened the batting and scored a fine 30 not out to take his side to victory by seven wickets. Thomas took 2-15 for Malmesbury (Shrivenham 12 points, Malmesbury 2 points).
Under 15
A stubborn unbroken last wicket partnership between Josh Taylor and Josh Boulton earned Biddestone a hard-fought draw in their game at Chippenham.
Liam Dawson attacked the Biddestone bowling from the outset and scored a fine 105 before being dismissed by Andrew Lawton.
Tom Young (34) and Tom Beard (22) took the home side to 211-9 in their 45 overs. Sam Boore (4-45) and Josh Barnes (2-45) were the leading wicket takers for Biddestone.
Courtney Earl (2-7 in 9 overs) bowled very accurately for Chippenham and with Marcus Brown (3-17) and Chris Blewitt (2-21) bowling well, Biddestone struggled until Paul Walden (26) and Laurence Roots (24) provided stern resistance for the eighth wicket.
It was left to Taylor and Boulton to survive the final overs and secure the draw as Biddestone finished on 137-9 (Chippenham 15 points, Biddestone 10 points).
Fine bowling from the South Wilts spinners' Tom Pearce (5-22) and Rob Pittman (3-5) restricted Wootton Bassett to 107-8 in their 40 overs. Jon-Paul Yalden top scored with 20.
Pittman (22) led the South Wilts reply and, with useful contributions from several other batsmen, the visitors reached their target for the loss of five wickets after 26 overs.
Tom Davies took 2-14 for Bassett. (Wootton Bassett 4 points, South Wilts 17 points). Opener Rory Davis batted throughout the Cannings innings to score an unbeaten 121 as the home side posted an impressive 226-3 against Purton. Davis received excellent support from James Page (37) and Neil Clarke (31).
The Purton reply was completely dominated by Adam Miles who also scored a fine century before being dismissed for 114. However, no other batsman reached double figures as Purton were all out for 157 to leave Cannings winners by 69 runs.
Brown (3-25) and Page (2-46) were the main wicket takers for Cannings (Cannings 21 points, Purton 5 points).
David Medhurst (53) and Stuart Greener (38) provided Westbury with a strong start in their home fixture against Swindon.
Jamie Baden (3-19) and Max Whiting (4-20) then ran through the Westbury middle order before some late resistance from wicket keeper Sam Dufose took the home side to a respectable 152-9.
Opener Jamie Furkins (81 not out) ensured Swindon did not suffer any alarms and with Paul Laggett (22 not out) took the visitors in victory by eight wickets in the 31st over (Westbury 5 points, Swindon 22 points).
