ANDY King has rubbished suggestions that Luke Beckett is County Ground-bound although he is hopeful of completing deals for two Premiership youngsters.
The manager jets off for his summer holiday today having reached verbal agreements with the unnamed players and their agents and hasn't ruled out acquiring a third.
All King would confirm is that both are based at the same top-flight club and have spent time on loan at League Two outfits this year.
Beckett's name has been linked with Town in the past and the rumour mill has thrown up his name as a possible replacement should Sam Parkin move on.
King has angrily denied any link and says the Sheffield United striker, who spent the latter part of 2004-5 on loan at Oldham Athletic, is not on his hit list, or any list for that matter.
He said: "I can state quite categorically that Luke Beckett will not be coming to this football club.
"He is not someone I am looking to add to my squad. I don't know where that's come from."
What King can confirm is that his recruitment campaign for 2005-6 is underway.
He said: "I'm not prepared to make any details public at this stage.
"They're not names that most fans will be familiar with. All I'll say is that I believe they can provide a challenge to what I have and if an agreement in principle becomes a concrete deal they will return in July with the same opportunity as everyone else.
"I've already said that I can't afford to have bodies for the sake of it.
"Both lads come across as good characters who want to play for Swindon Town.
"Just as importantly for me they come highly recommended."
King is known to have good contacts at Bolton Wanderers although he is very familiar with the set-up at newly-promoted Sunderland.
The manager has already said he would have loved to bring Newcastle United's Peter Ramage and the Black Cats' Patrick Collins to Wiltshire, only for both players to force their way into their respective clubs' first teams.
