THE latest Westleaze Open incorporated some very good junior anglers. Weights were very close generally with a single fish making the difference.

Mark Baston lead the way this time with a 48-4-0 catch ahead of Terry Hicks 43-7-0 and Martin Iles after two previous wins, was third with 40-4-0.

Section winners: Shawn Matthews 38-7-0 and Alan Mitchell 29-3-0.

Best fish caught by a senior was a 10-14-0 mirror carp taken by the winner Mark Baston.

In the third of a series of five matches held by Coleview AC this time held at Bourton on the Water, Keith Harris romped home with 102lb of carp well ahead of a very close pack.

Second was John Jarman (52-91/2oz) and third Paul Ogbourne (51-71/2oz).
