WILTSHIRE explorer David Hempleman-Adams has unveiled his next record-breaking attempt.
Mr Hempleman-Adams, who lives in Box, and fellow adventurer Bear Grylls are to attempt to break the world record for the Highest Formal Dinner Party. The current world record stands at 23,832ft set by Henry Shelford on the slopes of Lhakpa Ri in Westen Tibet.
But the latest publicity stunt sponsored by Champagne firm GH Mumm's will take place right here in the UK at 25,000ft.
The attempt will take place on June 30 onboard a specially-built hot-air balloon piloted by Mr Hempleman-Adams. As the record altitude approaches Bear Grylls and Royal Navy companion Lt Cdr Alan Veal will abseil 40ft from the balloon basket to a specially designed and formally laid dinner-table suspended beneath the balloon and enjoy a bottle of the sponsor's Grand Cru champagne.
