HEALTH bosses have met with independent organisations in preparation for their major review of services.
The Kennet and North Wiltshire and West Wiltshire Primary Care Trusts need to save around £15 million and are to embark on a review which will result in changes to health services.
The review is set to kick off with the first of five large scale meetings of almost 200 representatives of local groups. The first meeting is on May 19 in Chippenham.
These meetings will gather information and views from the public to shape proposals for change which will be consulted on in early 2006.
To ensure they are being transparent trust chief executive Carol Clarke and some of her senior management team have met members of Wiltshire County Council's health overview and scrutiny committee and the national Independent Reconfiguration Panel.
Dr Peter Barrett, chairman of the Independent Reconfiguration Panel, said: "It is a positive sign that this meeting with the PCTs has taken place and particularly so that it has happened early on in the process."
Councillor John Thomson, chairman of the health overview and scrutiny committee, said: "I understand the need for this review and wish the PCTs well in this complex task."
