Gardeners are being offered a free shredding service in a bid to encourage environmental awareness.
Wiltshire Wildlife Trust, in association with Sherston Parva Nursery, is offering people the chance to have their garden waste shredded for free this Saturday from 10am -3pm.
Rachel Dedman, home composting officer for Wiltshire Wildlife Trust, said: "Most garden prunings simply end up in landfill site.
"It is madness that we throw away such a valuable and easy to recycle resource, while people go to so much trouble to recycle cans and paper.
"The shredder is a practical solution. It can chop prunings up to four and half inches in diameter."
