TEENAGER Steven Dean will step out at the City of Manchester Stadium this weekend alongside ten of his mates after winning a national competition for the second year in a row.

Last year Dean, of Tern Close, Calne, trained with Jay-Jay Okocha and Welsh wizard Ryan Giggs at Bolton Wanderers' Reebok Stadium.

This year Dean, 17, will be able to play Manchester City's ground after his name was pulled out of the hat to face a team from Hull.

At the ground the team will be presented with a football kit, be able to use the club's changing rooms and will be presented with trophies at the end of the game. The game will also have a FIFA qualified referee.

Dean, who has been playing football since he was nine and has represented Wiltshire Schoolboys, said he was gobsmacked when he found out he had won again.

"The first time I won the competition I thought it was brilliant but this time I thought it was a bit weird. I am not complaining though.

"I was in school when I found out and my dad told me when I got home that I better start putting a team together."

Two mini buses will be travelling up to Manchester full of friends and family to watch the side play.

Dean will be lining up alongside his twin brother Graham as he does on a weekly basis for Maud Heath Sports in Calne.

Both players, although defensive, will be looking to get on the score sheet.

Central defender Dean said he would make sure he gets his chance up front.

"It's going to be amazing to play on that pitch and great to be inside a new Premiership stadium.

"It will be a bit different to Calne's ground. That has the odd chair and probably not quite the same atmosphere at Manchester City's ground."

Dean said he is hoping to meet some of Manchester City's stars after training with Okocha and Giggs last time.

"We hope there are some players but we have not been told there will be."

The competition was run by Reebok and Sports Soccer, Swindon.
