DEVIZES Town Council is to raise concerns about the impact of hundreds of new homes planned to be built off London Road.
Members of the council's planning committee raised no objections to detailed plans to build 132 homes at the former Le Marchant Barracks.
But councillors told a meeting that they were worried about the impact of the proposed development on traffic.
The site already has outline planning permission for housing and the new plans, by David Wilson Homes, is for 99 houses and apartments plus converting the barracks building into 33 apartments and town houses.
At the town council meeting councillor Ray Taylor said: "We should express our serious concern about the cumulative effect of housing development in London Road on traffic flow.
"It is building up problems for Devizes in the future."
The Le Marchant Barracks application, which will be decided by Kennet District Council, is part of 1,000 houses that could be built off London Road in the next few years.
Other schemes include 158 homes at the former Spitalcroft allotment site and 150 homes on the former Kverneland site.
