Stephanie and Leah Chandler face a challenging day 16064/2COUSINS Stephanie and Leah Chandler hope to raise hundreds of pounds for a diabetes charity by spending 24 hours manacled together with handcuffs.
Stephanie, 16, and Leah, 17, from Five Lanes Farm, Potterne, have chosen Tuesday June 14 for their ordeal, to coincide with Diabetes Awareness Week.
They are raising money for Diabetes UK.
Stephanie said: "Everyone knows someone suffering from diabetes. I know five three in my family and two close friends.
"As well as raising money, we want to raise awareness of this disease, so that something will eventually be done about it.
"I didn't understand exactly what diabetes involves until I started to research it. It is quite frightening."
The two girls, former pupils at Lavington School, are now studying at Trowbridge College, and their lecturers have been teed up as to what to expect on June 14.
Stephanie said: "We will have to go to each other's lectures and eating in the canteen will be interesting.
"We are not just going to sit still and watch the time go by, we want to make it as challenging as possible. We have arranged to go bowling with our family and all sorts of other things as well."
Anyone wishing to sponsor the girls should ring Trowbridge College on (01225) 766241.
