Organic Week, the UK's largest celebration of organic food and farming, takes place from 3 to 11 September 2005.
Organic Week is now in its eleventh year and is organised by the Soil Association, the country's leading organisation certifying and promoting organic food.
This year's theme is 'A feast of flavours' and the Soil Association is encouraging people to enjoy the great taste of organic food. A number of events are planned around the UK so that as many people as possible can find out that food produced in harmony with nature can also be delicious and nutritious.

Organic Food Festival: 3 and 4 September 2005
The Soil Association's fourth and highly popular Organic Food Festival takes place around Bristol's lively harbourside. The best organic food and drink will be available to taste and buy, as well as organic clothes and beauty products.
Hugh Fearnley-Whittingstall will again lead the popular celebrity kitchen masterclass, and visitors can also enjoy tastings, talks, a family marquee and a fringe arts festival. Last year's festival attracted over 40,000 visitors - double the number that attended in 2003. Entry to the festival is free.
Organic Experience Weekend: 10 & 11 September 2005
This is your chance to see organic farms first hand. Organic farms around the UK will open their gates to the public, with events for all the family. Find out how organic farmers care for their animals and the environment, enjoy tractor and trailer rides and taste fresh, local organic food. Many farms have shops and cafes where you can buy your favourite organic fare.
Celebrity support
Hugh Fearnley-Whittingstall, who will once again take part in Organic Week, says, "Buy local and organic and you have the satisfaction of knowing you have contributed to the diversity and vitality of the countryside around you."
Jamie Oliver says, "I want to cook with the best ingredients and that's why I support the Soil Association. They're working to ensure that food is the way it should be: healthy, tasty and grown with nature."
Sophie Grigson says, "I eat organic and use organic ingredients where I can because I believe it is a logical step when you think more carefully about where your food comes from."
Sponsors
Organic Week is sponsored by Hambleden Herbs, Highland Spring and Whole Earth Foods.
The Organic Food Festival is organised by the Soil Association in partnership with Yeo Valley Organic. The event is also supported by additional sponsorship from Green & Blacks, Suma, Freshwater Company, the Village Bakery and Attwoolls.
