WITH reference to Terry King's letter of May 6. I have long been entertained by Messrs King and the Old Town Association, but this raised an above average chuckle.
He stated that the building of 478 houses on the old Princess Margaret Hospital site would increase traffic.
Surely when PMH was operational considerably more traffic used Okus Road than he suggests the new houses would bring?
Therefore, in my opinion, he and his association should be grateful for the reduction in traffic.
Furthermore, John Prescott has recently announced the need for affordable housing and indeed stated that old hospital sites would be used for this purpose.
At the moment the Old Town Association stands together.
When a decision is made how access is to be gained to these new houses I suspect a falling out.
By this I mean will the access be off Okus Road or Westlecott Road?
Take up a more rewarding hobby Mr King and enjoy life, it's too precious to spend it whingeing!
