GAZETTE & HERALD: POLICE are seeking the driver of a vehicle which stopped near a horrific hit and run accident that killed factory worker Michael Reynolds.
The 42-year old from Woodlands Road, Chippenham was cycling home from work along the A4 from Corsham when he was struck by a car and dragged along the road for 30 metres on Friday, April 29.
He died at the scene of the crash at 10.15pm. The driver of the blue P-registered Peugeot failed to stop.
But police are strongly urging a motorist who was driving a light coloured vehicle, possibly a Toyota, and stopped near the scene or any other witnesses to come forward.
The car was travelling from Chippenham to Corsham and stopped with its hazard lights on just past the scene of the collision on Chequers Hill. Police believe this person was the first at the scene and may have witnessed the incident.
The driver or any other witnesses can contact PC Williamson at the road-policing unit in Melksham on (01249) 449688 or on (01380) 735735.
Tributes poured in for Mr Reynolds, who grew up in Box, last week. His funeral will be held at Box Methodist Church today at 2pm. He will be cremated at Semington.
