THREE Trowbridge and District League sides have been made homeless for next season after being told they would have to move from their current home at John of Gaunt School.
The Stiffs, Apetito and Trowbridge Wanderers share the school pitch but have been evicted by league officials due to a problem of fixture back logs.
The three Division Three sides received the news by letter this week.
Stiffs' secretary Theresa Giles said: "It was like a bolt from the blue. They argued that too many games were called off, but we only had three called off all season.
"The problem came when the league allowed Trowbridge Wanderers to play on our pitch at the start of this season because obviously with three sides there it caused fixture problems.
"We are looking at other pitches for next season but it has caused is problems that we did not expect."
AFC Trowbridge Wanderers' secretary Mel Messaoud said: "It is an absolute joke. Pitches are at a minimum in Trowbridge and now we are going to have to look outside of the town for a pitch, which we don't want to do.
"The problem was the league accepted anyone who wanted to join and they have just ended up with too many teams."
Alan House, manager of Apetito, said: "I think it is a disgrace. There is nowhere for us to play next season.
"I have been on the phone to the county council to try and get somewhere but as you know there are not many pitches around.
"At the moment I can't guarantee we will be able to play."
League chairman Roly Hill apologised for the inconvenience but said the main problem was the lack of facilities in Trowbridge.
He said: "Between them we had to call eight matches off and that obviously causes problems. We want them in the league but they will have to find somewhere else to play.
"Everyone knows that the leisure facilities in the town are absolutely dreadful."
