A FUNDRAISER who walked 630 miles for charity completed the feat on Wednesday, a day before his daughter's 18th birthday.
Chris Yalland, 43, of Balmoral Road, Trowbridge, decided to tackle the South West Coast Path to raise awareness of the lack of safe drinking water in the Third World.
Mr Yalland, general manager of pleasure boat company Sally Boats in Bradford on Avon, said of the Walk 4 Water campaign: "Overall I think the walk went well. I was very sore to start with then I took a tumble and damaged my ankle around halfway which messed things up a bit.
"But once I got over that it was just home sickness really."
Mr Yalland said he had received plenty of support on the trek, which saw him average 22 miles a day since the start on April 11.
"Lots of people helped out. Once they realise there is a humanitarian crisis they respond and it's one of the great things about the British public," he said.
