A TEAM of trained debt advisers are launching a new services in Swindon to help debt victims of all ages.
The new free charitable scheme called Willows Debt Advice Service is being launched on May 23 and aims to bring hope and help to those of all ages and circumstances affected by debt.
Nowadays, many young people are growing up with debt, with many university graduates now leaving university with more than £12,000 in debt.
Stephen Natt of Willows Debt Advice Service said: "Many people have spent too much on their homes, cars and lifestyle, so that if something goes wrong in their lives, such as they lose their job, they can find themselves in financial problems very quickly.
"Once in debt, the trouble is they often have no savings, so when they get into difficulty they have nothing to fall back on."
As part of The Willows, an established local counselling service based in Swindon, the Debt Advice Service is a charitable organisation and will offer help to individuals who have debt problems or those trying to avoid debt.
Mr Natt said: "We will offer free consultations and advice to individuals who contact us. Our aim is simple, we want to see the people of Swindon set free from the chains of debt".
Willows Debt Advice Service can be contacted on 0800 328 0664 or e-mail debtadviceservice@ willowscounselling.org.uk
