ELDERLY people in Swindon are being encouraged to borrow wheelchairs from Age Concern.
The charity, based at 14 Milton Road, offers a free wheelchair borrowing service to the elderly.
Age Concern director Jo Osorio, said: "Wheelchairs can be booked and then collected or can be delivered if necessary. We can generally offer a same day service."
There are about 25 wheelchairs and it is rare for there not to be at least one available.Jo said: "We'd much rather they were being used than sitting in our basement store.
"People use them when someone's coming to visit; for day trips; while waiting for an NHS wheelchair; or when they want to try one before deciding."
To book a wheelchair call 01793 69266.
