77443-54PIGLETS, calves and birds of prey were the stars of the show at Eastbrook farm open day.
Hundreds of people turned out for the event on Saturday for the chance to meet some of the animals at the Bishopstone farm.
"It was a fantastic day," said Barbara Rayner, marketing manager at the farm.
"We had lots of people and there was lots of interest because people love going to see the pigs. They live outside and people can go up and see them. The children especially love the piglets.
"We've also had tractor and trailer rides down to the calf house to see the new calves.
"We have just planted a new wood so people have been able to go and see the young trees. The wood has been planted with lots of glades so it is beautiful to walk through.
"We were lucky with the weather it was a bit windy but the main thing is that it stayed dry. It was fantastic."
Clive Palmer, from Padworth, was there to give bird of prey demonstrations with buzzard Zac and, to make sure there was something for everyone, chiropractor Jane Faulkes was on hand giving free spine checks.
Helen Browning, who took over the farm in the 1980s, was also there to talk to visitors about how the organic farm is run and there were organic burgers and sausages on offer.
