77438-49BLUSTERY weather did not stop the fun at the annual Asquith Nursery fete in Wroughton.
Much of the activity had to be moved inside to the school hall to escape the strong winds but there was still plenty to see and do.
Face painting and a nail art stall gave the fete a colourful side and there were cake and book stalls, refreshments and games.
For those who did venture outside there was a bouncy castle and PC Andy Plenderleith, of Swindon police, was on hand to show off his police car. "They love it," he said, as four-year-old son Aidan played in the vehicle. "All the noise and flashing lights.
"They all seem to go for the siren."
Nursery manager Theresa Birch said: "Lots of parents came to help run the event and there was lots of fun for all the children. They loved the police car and the bouncy castle and I saw loads of the little girls with their nails painted."
Parents were also dropping in during the event, on Saturday, to find out more about the nursery, including the new baby unit.
