We are manning a stand in the town centre every day this week, so come down and give us your scoop.

We have set up a district office in the shopping centre and are inviting you to drop by for a chat and to find out what local reporting is all about.

The meet-and-greet event has been organised to mark Local Newspaper Week, which runs until May 22 and celebrates the healthy state of the regional press.

Reporter Ben Payne, who met readers with columnist Victoria Tagg yesterday, said: "People were really keen to tell us their stories.

"It was really good to meet Swindonians in an informal way and everybody had something good to say about their local paper."

Alfie the Advertiser Alligator is also doing the rounds, handing out goodies.
