77480-72A PORTABLE planetarium came to Holy Family Primary School as part of science week.
Youngsters at the school learned about forces, light and space in the Explorer Dome, an inflatable planetarium dome which travels around the region.
"The kids crawl into the dome through a tunnel," explained Shaaron Leverment, who runs Explorer Dome.
"It is quite dark inside and there are lots of things for the children to do, like dancing lasers around and learning about gravity."
All the children at Holy Family got to spend time in the dome to learn about a range of science topics.
The space shows gave the children the chance to learn about the origin and evolution of space and stars, the solar system and what we see in the sky at night.
The sessions on forces allowed the youngsters to get to grips with gravity and discover forces that feel very different in space.
There were also sessions on light explaining what it is, where it comes from, how it travels and how we see and bringing the darkened dome to light with a display of effects and experiments.
