LIFELONG learning is the theme of a series of events in Swindon.
Swindon's Learning Ambassadors are celebrating their first birthday by organising a series of events to mark Adult Learners Week, which starts on Saturday.
The ambassadors operate in Parks, East Walcot, Penhill, central Swindon, Pinehurst and Moredon, helping adults to access learning and job opportunities.
Next Wednesday there's a chance to join Swindon mayor Peter Stoddart and a stilt-walking clown at free drop-in workshops at Penhill learning centre in Penhill Drive. This event will be running from 9am to 8.15 pm.
Among the activities will be Egyptian dance, Indian head massage, Hindu folk art and karate.
On Thursday May 26 the ambassadors will be in the town centre carrying out a survey of the public about which courses people in Swindon would like to be available in their local area.
On Friday May 27 the ambassadors are holding a Have A Go session at Drove Primary School in Drove Road between 2pm and 4pm.
The session is a series of 10-minute tasters where children can bring their friends and family members and get them involved in learning.
Activities include singing, tai chi, wrapping a sari and juggling.
Anyone who learns four new things can send up a helium filled balloon and enter a prize draw.
