GAZETTE & HERALD: CORSHAM Civic Society is holding its second summer walk and supper evening in June.

The walk from Somerfield car park, in Newlands Road is a way to forge new friendships and stroll the streets and fields of the town.

It will finish at 8pm at the Flemish Weaver pub, in the High Street where the owners will have prepared a Cornish pasty feast.

Anyone is welcome to go along and chairman of the Civic Society, Peter Tapscott hopes it will be even more successful than last year, which attracted at least 20 ramblers.

"This year's summer walk will concentrate on Corsham's less well-known public footpaths, ones which serve the older residential areas," he said.

"It will not be too strenuous. Weather permitting, it will take in the delights of the Black Path and Slug Lane, together with a visit to the Beechfield Wildlife Area."

The walk begins at 6.30pm on Wednesday June 1.

For information about the evening you can contact Mr Tapscott on (01249) 714453 or Nathalie and Jerry to order your meal for after the walk on (01249) 701929.
