Hullavington parish councillor Maggie Bawden says she has been exonerated for not speaking up against a planning application in the village.
Coun Bawden came under fire after declining to comment during a district council planning meeting last March on an outline planning application for a residential development at Royal Field Close in the village.
Hullavington Parish Council had already voted unanimously against the application.
A row erupted when Coun Bawden, the parish council's representative at the district council meeting, said she had no comment when asked to address the committee.
Villagers wrote to the parish council questioning her decision and calling for her resignation.
However, Coun Bawden said she was cleared of any wrongdoing at a private parish council meeting last Wednesday night.
She said: "I was totally exonerated for my actions at the development control meeting. I didn't do anything wrong."
Coun Bawden added that she had no reason to say anything at the meeting when it had already been covered in the parish council's submission.
