TWO all-round performances by South Africans Michael Lodder and Dwaine Perry set up a derby victory for Biddestone.
Perry took 4-14 and hit 69 not out wile Lodder took 2-39 and hit 29 as Biddestone cruised to a four-wicket victory.
For the first 20 overs Malmesbury were barely hitting above one run per over but upped the run rate to finish on 155-9 after 45 overs.
Opener James Pearce-Smith started slowly for the away side but began to lash out hitting six fours and one six to finish 66 not out.
As Malmesbury fell to 46-5 it was Pearce-Smith's partnership with Charlie Langton (37) that threatened a revival as they put on a sixth wicket stand of 59.
Biddestone also opened poorly falling to 21-2 but a 49 partnership between Lodder and Perry for the third wicket and a 58 partnership between Perry and Gordon Bedwell (22) saw the home side to victory.
Biddestone captain Kris Boulton said he was happy to get a win under the team's collective belt.
"We did look rusty as we did not play the other week but hopefully we can keep going from here.
"Their opener (Pearce-Smith) batted very well and within himself because wickets were falling at the other end. If we had got him out then realistically we could have bowled them for less than 100."
Boulton was delighted with his Lodder's and Perry's contribution.
"Perry bowled into a very strong wind and he bowled his whole spell into the wind which took pace off his deliveries so he did brilliantly.
"While he was batting he never looked in any problem. As long as he was at the wicket we were always going to win.
"Michael (Lodder) bowled well early on and did a job for us especially when him and Dwaine (Perry) were batting together.
"But Gordon (Bedwell) also did well. He's a big strong guy and when he hits the ball they stay hit.
"His four fours helped us towards our victory."
Malmesbury captain Ed Shellard said he would be looking to reinvigorate the batting as six players failed to get above three runs.
"James Pearce-Smith got going eventually but we lost too many early wickets.
"We should not be 17 after 18 overs and in hindsight it looks like I've batted one or two too high up the order.
"You cannot win games if you let bowlers dominate and that is what we did.
"It was not all down to a lack of availability but we did play three who normally would not.
"Next week we should have Phil Caley back and I will perhaps bring in Phil Cook and Giddeon Poultney.
"I did not want to bring in Giddeon so early but he is back from school on study leave and he bowls quickly and is also quite a destructive batsman.
"We are short so we may just have to take a chance and may be try out some other players from the Seconds."
Malmesbury play in another derby next Saturday as hosts to Marlborough while Biddestone travel to Hinton Charterhouse.
