Wootton Bassett Town Council will tonight decide whether to support development proposals for local beauty spot Brynard's Hill.
The proposals, put forward by Wainhomes, is potentially one of the biggest developments to hit the town in recent years.
In March more than 200 residents came to register their views on the proposals during a two-day presentation held by Wainhomes.
The presentation followed years of unsuccessful applications by the developers and, more recently, controversy over a steel fence erected close to houses on Vowley View.
Residents will be able to see the latest proposals at a meeting tonight at 8.30pm in the civic centre.
Afterwards, members of the public will have the opportunity to raise questions with the developers in front of the town council.
The meeting will then return to council and councillors will decide whether to support it or not.
If backed by the town council the developers will try to have the proposals included within North Wiltshire District Council's Local Plan 2011.
Coun Olivia Thomas, a member of the Brynard's Hill working group, said: "After the initial bad feeling over the erection of the fence at Vowley View, Wainhomes have done their best to involve the community in consultation over the best way forward for the site.
"This meeting will allow people to continue to have input in this scheme as has been encouraged throughout the whole process."
The March proposals included a residential area alongside Vowley View with up to 70 new homes including affordable housing.
There would also be an extension to the Interface Business Park and the development of a country park at Brynard's Hill, with a car park to the north of the new housing with space for 40 cars.
A children's play area has been included in the plans which would include an adventure playground and a fully equipped exercise trail on sloping ground. Road improvements are also proposed.
