BEN Copeland's goal in extra time sealed the Wiltshire U13 Cup for Chippenham at the County Ground last weekend.
They became the first team to defeat opponents Amesbury in two seasons after a nail-biting final had ended 3-3 at the end of nornal time.
Wiltshire FA secretary Mike Byrne said it was a classic final: "It was a great game of football played in the right spirirt between two skillful teams. It was a superb advert for youth football."
Amesbury had taken the lead inside five minutes, before racing on to 3-0 by the half hour mark.
Chippenham substitute Tom Taylor pulled one back after the break, and Tyler Sibbick, Dan Smith and Ben Copeland began to get on top in the midfield.
Smith played in Dan Webb to score Chippenham's second and with Taylor causing havoc it was no surprise when he set up Webb to score from close range to level. Extra time began with Chippenham's backline of Oli Burns and Ryan Merryweather showing great determination and as penalties loomed Copeland nipped in between two defenders and smashed in the winner. Captain Shane Blackmore lifted the cup.HREOD Parkway School won the Swindon Schools Football Association Cup beating Wootton Bassett School in the final.
Hreod won through to the final, held at Swindon Supermarine Football Club on Wednesday May 11, after their previous victories over Bradon Forest in the quarter finals and Dorcan in the semi finals.
With players from both teams familiar to each other through youth football it was always going to be a tight game.
Both schools started strongly and the Swindon-based school took the lead after 15 minutes with a goal from Josh Skeates.
Bassett then battled back well and forced some elastic saves from Hreod keeper Conor Jeffries.
But it was Hreod who doubled their lead with a fine goal from Ryan Elliot.
The Bassett side never gave up, winning them many fans, as they continued to press forward with Connor Thompson consistently going close.
However, Hreod sealed the victory with a third and final goal from Josh Parsons.
The 3-0 scoreline was an unfair reflection on the game as both sides were evenly matched.
As champions Hreod will now represent Swindon in the National Schools Competition later this year.
