DERRY Hill United girls side has continued its successful season as four players were selected to the Wiltshire Girls School of Excellence.
After a successful season competing in the Wiltshire Women's and Girls League the girls of Derry Hill United took a well-earned break from competition to have their skills assessed through the FA Soccer Stars scheme.
Jon Baker the Club's Girls Football Development Officer said "This year was especially rewarding with many players achieving three stars or above and two receiving the top award.
"In this, our first year of league participation, each of the squads have performed well holding their own against some well established teams.
"Our performances have improved dramatically throughout the season, a great credit to all the players and coaches.
"We're not just about winning and like to help the girls develop their football skills.
"This philosophy has been rewarded with four of our players being selected to represent the Wiltshire Girls School of Excellence."
Club chairman Alan Crocker added: "We like to make football interesting and would encourage all girls to give football a go. It is fun and healthy too what a great combination. With the Ladies European Championships being held in England this June I'm sure there will be more girls wanting to play."
