THE funeral took place yesterday of Richard Horney, 44, a father of three from the Devizes area who is thought to have taken his own life.
Mr Horney's body was found hanging from a tree in Salisbury Hollow, Edington, by a 17-year-old girl horse rider on the evening of Sunday May 8.
Wiltshire coroner David Masters was informed and he opened and adjourned an inquest at Trowbridge last Thursday.
Mr Horney lived at Lower Foxhangers, Rowde. His friend, Colin Fletcher, the proprietor of Foxhangers Holidays, said that Mr Horney's family were devastated by his death.
He said: "He was a great bloke and his death has shocked us all."
