GAZETTE & HERALD: MORE than 600 vintage and classic planes will be taking over the one-time training aerodrome at RAF Hullavington from tomorrow for the ninth annual Great Vintage Flying Weekend.
Organiser Terry Booker said it was the enthusiasm and loyalty of the pilots that had built the weekend into Europe's largest show of its kind.
All the aircraft are privately owned by individuals or syndicates and span seven decades of aviation development. Some will be making the pilgrimage from as far away as France, Denmark, Belgium and Switzerland. "To stroll around the packed airfield on a sunny spring afternoon is to walk through living history," said Mr Booker.
Highlights will include two Spitfires.
