GAZETTE & HERALD: Plans to develop the site of the Hartwell Ford garage in Cocklebury Road were put on hold last Wednesday because members wanted to wait for a decision on the Cocklebury South master plan, which was made the following night.
Hartwell PLC had applied for outline permission to build 39 units on the site but withdrew a second, detailed application for the same site.
A previous application was refused because it was considered the site would be overdeveloped, spoiling the amenity of the area for neighbouring residents.
The applicants had agreed they would comply with the master plan, which sets out a picture for the redevelopment of the whole area.
Members agreed to defer making a decision until last Thursday's meeting when the master plan would be approved. The next meeting to discuss the Hartwell site is in two weeks.
