17054/3CHIPPENHAM NEWS: A MOTORCYCLIST was airlifted to hospital after a crash on Tuesday morning.
A collision between a Ducati 750cc motorbike and a silver Honda Civic, belonging to a Chippenham man, took place at 10.30am on Tuesday outside Chippenham Community Hospital on Rowden Hill.
The male motorbike rider, from Bristol, was airlifted to the Royal United Hospital, Bath, with injuries to his left ankle and right hip. His injuries were serious but are not thought to be life threatening.
The road was blocked and was closed between the Hungry Horse pub and the Bridge Centre roundabout.
Diversions were put in place to keep traffic flowing around the town centre. The road was opened at 1.35pm.
