A BUSINESS expert is lending entrepreneurs a helping hand by publishing a free web-based guide to success.
Starting Your Own Business is a complementary book available from Mark Sofflet's new website.
The book, which is sent out as a zipped email, contains hints and tips on surviving in the business world.
It's aimed at those starting out in business and established firms hoping to expand.
Mr Sofflet, of Chiseldon, runs Ad Lib marketing firm and is a public speaker, author and marketing expert.
The website went live this week and will be expanded soon, although the free book is available now. Mr Sofflet, 43, said: "Basically it started from people requesting my services, and from doing an 'ask the expert' service.
"Business start-ups were asking me to train them, but most of the training I've done is aimed at blue chip companies, so isn't quite appropriate, so in response I've written the book, which gives more of a 'Hitchhikers Guide to Business.
"There's lots of anecdotal stories in there, too."
Mr Sofflet, who will soon be featured in a national newspaper offering business tips, is also sending out a quarterly newsletter to anyone who would like a brief business guide, which can also be subscribed to on the website.
He said he wanted to break away from the traditional staid and boring attitude to business advice.
"It will be topical and fun," he said. "The fun element is important because as anyone who has run a business will tell you it can be very lonely at times and often taken far too seriously."
