YOUNG entertainers from Wiltshire are being given a shot at performing in the Blackpool Circus.

The country's oldest circus is looking for stars of the future from clowns to jugglers, to perform alongside seasoned entertainers at a show in the autumn.

Last year 10-year-old unicyclist Rory Clark, of Wyke Road, Trowbridge, beat off competition from around the country to perform at the circus. Geoff Sage, general manager of the Blackpool Tower and Circus, said: "We want the cream of the crop from Wiltshire to enter the talent search and be in with a chance of topping the bill with some world class entertainers."

Anyone between the ages of 10 and 30 can enter the talent search and are asked to send judges a DVD or video showing off their skills.

Auditions will be held in the summer and 12 finalists will be selected, from which one will go onto perform at a show in September. For an application form e-mail circus@ mtjpr.co.uk. The closing date is June 24.
