THIS year's Wiltshire Times and Chippenham News Mid-Wilts Youth and Minor League cup finals weekend was the best ever, says organiser Shirley Brigham.
Nine age group finals were played over three days at Melksham Town's Conigre ground.
League secretary Mrs Brigham said: "Everything went very smoothly and the standard of football was outstanding. It has been a brilliant weekend.
"The weather forecast was a little worrying before the weekend, but we got through without a drop of rain."
The weekend kicked off with the under 17s final between Chippenham Town and Salisbury City Juniors.
Salisbury dominated throughout and ran out 4-0 winners.
A LARGE crowd were entertained by a very exciting game between Chippenham Town Youth and Melksham Town Youth.
Chippenham took the lead in the first half with a goal from Joe White, but Melksham battled hard in the second half and were rewarded with an equaliser from Ross Crighton.
With just minutes left super sub Mike Smith came on and within minutes scored the winner for Melksham.
Man-of-the-match: Alex Leadbetter (Chippenham Town).
LOCAL rivals Jack Trowbridge Wanderers and Trowbridge Town Youth battled it out for the Jack Goodenough Memorial Trophy.
Trowbridge Town put up a good fight but a great team performance from Wanderers saw them complete a league and cup double with a 4-1 victory.
Wanderers' goals came from Joe Stradling and a hat-trick from Declan Harrison with Tom Mackinder replying for Town.
Man-of-the-match: Jake Hiscocks (Trowbridge Wanderers).
FC CHIPPENHAM completed a league and cup double with a 6-1 win over AFC Corsham.
Leigh Rogers scored for Corsham and Jamie Rodriguez, Jack Williamson, Daniel Heavie, Jamie Walker and Matthew Stevens for the winners.
Referee Alan Evans was awarded the best level seven award for attaining the highest marks over the season.

IN an evenly contested first half between Blue Division AFC Corsham and Trowbridge Town Youth, from the Green Division, both sides created chances.
Ben Powell in the Trowbridge goal pulled off a stunning save to deny Corsham.
The deadlock was broken when a cross from Jamie Mortimer was seized on by Ashley Rendall who bundled the ball home from close range for Trowbridge to take the lead.
Corsham put the Trowbridge goal under pressure with a series of long throw-ins and the defensive partnership of Kia Mead and Tom Oakley held firm.
The second half saw the Corsham goal come under increasing threat as Trowbridge took control, with Corsham goalkeeper Alex Kilbane pulling off a number of good saves to keep out efforts from Leon Greenland, Jack Whiting, Oliver Nash and Daniel Letchford
Trowbridge kept their nerve in the final minutes of Corsham pressure to run out deserved winners.
Captain Ashley Rendall lifted the cup for the town side who will take their place in the top division of next year's under 10 league.

Under 16s
SUNDAY'S first match for the Barry Curtis Memorial Trophy brought together Bath Arsenal, from the Blue Division, and Trowbridge Town Youth, from the Red Division.
The first half was dominated by Trowbridge who took the lead with a well taken shot from Dan Barnett.
Bath hammered the Trowbridge goal throughout the second half and eventually found the target with a fine strike from Ross Lye.
Trowbridge caught Bath on the break several times but were denied by the superb goalkeeping of Kurt Milsom.
A hand ball in the penalty area finally settled this very close game and Robert Hobbs converted to give Bath the victory at 2-1.

Under 14s
AFC CORSHAM and Trowbridge Town Youth met for the Tim Kerr Memorial Trophy.
Corsham showed great spirit but a fantastic team performance from Trowbridge saw them deserved 8-0 winners.
Trowbridge goals came from James Vince (2), Tom Bonser (2), Sam Meredith and a hat-trick from Liam Flower.
Man-of-the-match: Ollie Cooper (AFC Corsham).
Under 12s
TROWBRIDGE Town Youth scooped their second cup of the day when they ran out 3-1 winners over Calne Town Youth to lift the Ron Boucher Memorial Trophy.
Trowbridge goals came from Josh Ferguson (2) and Daryl Thomson, with Michael Coulson replying for Calne.
Oderico Rossi was awarded with the best level six referee award.
Man-of-the-match: Josh Ferguson (Trowbridge Town). Youth).
Under 10s
THE last final saw Trowbridge Town Youth and Warminster Highbury battle it out for the Daniel Higgs Memorial Trophy.
Mike Gemine broke the deadlock to give Highbury a 1-0 lead in the first half.
The second half continued as the first with neither side giving much away but a late strike from Will Mather ended normal time at 1-1.
The game was settled with a superb goal within the first 20 seconds of extra time when Luke Love scored the winner for Highbury.
Referee James Campbell was awarded the best level 8 award for his work over the past season.
Man-of-the-match: Louis Thompson (Warminster Highbury).
