Amy GriggsTrowbridge schoolgirl Amy Griggs, 15, has won the 2005 Bristol Search for a Star competition.
Amy, pictured right, of Slowgrove Close, Trowbridge, has won a cheque for £1,000 and a recording session at Access to Music.
The teenager wowed judges with her performances of Immortality by Celine Dion, and Emma Bunton's Maybe.
Mum Julie Griggs said: "Amy was just pleased that she had made it to the final. She didn't expect to win.
"Amy used to enter holiday camp competitions from the age of eight, and it's her dream to sing professionally"
Amy is part of the Starry Eyes Performance Foundation set up in July 2000 to develop talent in the Trowbridge area.
There were 11 hopefuls from Starry Eyes who entered the competition, four of which made it to the semi finals.
Riannon Lambert from Melksham made it to the final with Amy. She was third after singing Sarah Brightman's Time to say Goodbye, and I Could Have Danced All Night, from My Fair Lady.
Amy will be performing at the Wessex Show on May 21 22, and will appear at the Trowbridge Picnic in the Park on June 12.
