THIEVES broke into a garden centre near Purton and stole equipment worth than £3,500.
Although triggering an alarm and being spotted by a member of the public, they still managed to take six chainsaws, a pressure washer, a Honda blower and two generators during the raid at Greatfield Garden Centre.
Police believe there were two or three people involved, and they were driving a white saloon car.
A white Rover 620 was discovered burnt out in a field nearby the following day.
The burglary took place at 10pm on Friday May 6.
