AT last - one of the misguided Council gang who seek to develop at Coate has broken cover via your columns (I am proud of university plan, Adver May 16).
Councillor Thompson's claim of overwhelming support seems in the same league of delusion as ministerial denials that Iraq was a door-step issue in the recent General Election.
Besides the growing petition against development, the Evening Advertiser survey published on February 15 showed 65 per cent against a university sited at Coate.
Isn't there some sort of statutory and moral duty for the Council itself to consult with and reflect the views of the people?
