I READ the article in Monday's Adver concerning Eastbrook Farm's open day. There were pictures of piglets and of Mr Tim Finney feeding one of his sows. We are told that children love the piglets.
At the end of the article we are told that organic burgers and sausages were on offer.
There is a missing line there. Those piglets and the calves mentioned too, will end up as those burgers and sausages.
So why doesn't Eastbrook Farm show the public how those beautiful animals end up on your plate? Surely a visit to the abattoir should have been part of the day.
The animals might have a marginally better life, short that it is, over factory farmed creatures but I am afraid that they do not receive any special treatment.
Think what type of person earns their living by slaughtering animals.
The animals are treated appallingly.
I am convinced that anyone of any humanity who saw what goes on in the abattoir would turn vegetarian immediately.
