SWINDON is to get £40,000 to tackle its graffiti epidemic.
Last week, Cheri Wright, who heads the town's Crime and Disorder Unit confirmed that the Home Office would be providing money to specifically fight the graffiti problem.
No firm plans on how the unit will use the money have been drawn up, but its hoped that the money will be used to target taggers, as well as finding ways to prevent graffiti and helping to get the mess cleared up.
Swindon has received the cash from the Home Office, having been named an anti-social behaviour action area earlier this year as a result of the work being done to tackle the problems.
