I HAVE noticed that on the Save Coate website one simply clicks a box to cast a vote on the issue of the Swindon Gateway development.
This is a site on the worldwide web, which means that people from all around the globe, who do not pay a ha'peth of council tax here in Swindon are voting on things which affect us who live in the borough.
I also notice that the e-mail address of voters is not revealed so what is to stop anyone from clicking the box ten times or a hundred times?
Oh, the wonders of new technology. It may interest people to know that in the 2001 census returns nearly four hundred thousand people in Britain declared their religion as Jedi following instructions from a hoax website.
I think that people should log on to the Swindon Gateway website for rational, unemotional opinions on the project. This letter is on behalf of the thoroughly bored, silent majority.
