A MAN has appeared in court charged with a serious assault.
Barry Corbett, 47, of Bridport Road, Walcot, denies attacking John Ashwood in Swindon town centre on May 22, last year. He is charged with grievous bodily harm along with two co-defendants.
Corbett admitted one count of failing to surrender for not showing up as part of his bail conditions at Swindon police station in October last year.
He also pleaded guilty to a public order charge for a different offence.
This was in connection with an incident on April 29 this year when he threatened to kill a neighbour's greyhound for continually barking.
The court heard Corbett was drunk at the time of the threats.
His case was adjourned for a committal hearing at Swindon magistrates court on June 14.
He was released on conditional bail.
