TRADERS in Gorse Hill are hoping to organise another meeting to discuss the future of the shopping area.
They have already held talks with North Swindon MP Michael Wills and, now he has been re-elected, they want to press ahead with an action plan.
No date has been set for further talks.
Concerns centre around traffic in Cricklade Road, the threat of car parking charges in Chapel Street and the monopoly of Tesco.
Expansion work is being done at the superstore with bosses promising to pay out £33,000 to help revamp the area once work is complete.
Shopkeepers, who say this cash is a drop in the ocean, say Gorse Hill will die unless action is taken and want to meet councillors, planners and developers for talks.
Traders are also angry that the area has been overlooked in plans from the New Swindon Company to regenerate the town centre.
Geri Walker, of Sunflower Caf, said: "We have been neglected for too long. It's time something was done."
Mr Wills said a holistic approach in Gorse Hill was needed.
"We need to look at all the things together so we can get what's best for the area," he said.
