Lorraine Newton and Emma Stock Picture Ref: 77561-36YOUNG dancers in Wiltshire are moving to the beat as a new year of activities kick into action.
This is part of the Wiltshire Youth Arts Partnership's (WYAP) dance project 'Zero Gravity'.
With new funding of £48,150, the project creates an opportunity for young people to have fun, learn new choreographic skills and explore important issues through the medium of dance. The first 12 weeks will focus on sexual health, relationships and teenage pregnancy.
This will culminate in a performance at WYAP's annual youth dance festival 'DanceXpress' at the Arc Theatre in Trowbridge on July 9 and 10, 2005.
Angela Strilbing, the youth arts co-ordinator for the project, said: "This is a fantastic project which will create opportunities for young people from across Wiltshire to use dance as a medium for learning, creating and sharing in a safe and fun environment."
The dance groups meet on Mondays at 7.30-9pm at Wootton Bassett Youth Development Centre in Limekiln.
It costs £2 per session, spaces are limited and no experience is necessary. All abilities are welcome. For information call 01249 716681.
