U11 Red - CHIPPENHAM were very unlucky to be thwarted by the weather in their match at Devizes.
A fine innings by opener Guy Brothwood saw Chippenham to 68-6 in their 20 overs.
Alex Jopling took 2-22 in four overs for the home side. In reply, Devizes collapsed to 18-8 in the face of outstanding bowling from Andrew Edwards.
In 3.5 overs, Edwards had the remarkable figures of six wickets for just two runs. Heavy rain then forced the match to be abandoned (Devizes 10 points, Chippenham 10 points).
U11 Blue
Malmesbury v Swindon
ON a very damp wicket at Malmesbury, the home found scoring difficult against an accurate Swindon attack.
James Gillespie (14 not out) batted throughout the innings as Malmesbury totalled 58-3 in their 20 overs.
Swindon also found the conditions awkward but gradually the openers David Myles (28 not out) and Myles McLeod (14 not out) got on top of the bowling and saw their side home to a comfortable 10 wicket victory with 6 overs to spare ( Malmesbury 1 point, Swindon 12 points)
Biddestone v Wootton Bassett and Purton v Shrivenham were cancelled due to the rain.
U15
South Wilts v Cannings
SOUTH Wilts strengthened their position at the top of the league by overcoming visitors Cannings by 6 wickets.
Opener Rory Davies was the only Cannings batsman to come to terms with the accurate South Wilts' bowling as he carried his bat for a defiant 51 not out. Despite his contribution, Cannings were dismissed for 105 in 37 overs with Jo Page taking 3-9 in five overs, Liam Milner 2-12 in three overs and Martin Harries 2-10 in six overs.
James Glover (48) and Tom Pearce (18) gave the South Wilts innings a solid start and the home side reached their target for the loss of four wickets after 29 overs.
Nathan Jones took 2-10 off 4 overs for Cannings (South Wilts 19 points, Cannings 4 points).
The games between Biddestone and Wootton Bassett, Calne and Chippenham, and Purton and Westbury were all cancelled due to rain.
