A new community plan has been launched aimed at tackling the main issues identified by residents of Wootton Bassett and its surrounds.
Copies of the plan known as the Northern Community Area Plan (NCAP) will be distributed to every household from today onwards inviting further comments and feedback.
The plan is the creation of the newly formed Northern Community Area Partnership and follows 18 months of consultation and discussion between a network of community organisations.
The area includes Wootton Bassett, Cricklade, Purton, Lyneham, Broad Town, Lydiard Millicent, Lydiard Tregoze, Hook, Tockenham and Clyffe Pypard.
Chairman of the NCAP Mollie Groom said: "We hope our plan will lead to a real improvement in our quality of life and environment in this very special part of north Wiltshire."
Included within the list of local concerns are the protection of the rural buffer, RAF Lyneham, the former St Ivel site in Wootton Bassett, traffic volumes in Cricklade, buses passing through Lydiard Millicent, street lighting and reduced surgery opening hours.
