FOUR people have applied for Devizes Town's vacant manager's job since the departure of Mark Godley.
Of the four applicants two are currently in jobs, one is out of football at the moment and another is looking from a promotion from within the club.
It is also believed Nathan Sheridan is interested in the job but no application has yet been received from chairman Phil Rossiter.
"I have heard Nathan is interested in the job but I have not had a chance to speak to him yet," said the chairman.
Rossiter said the club had an open mind on who would be the next manager.
He added he would give applicants until next Friday to contact him.
"We will see who comes through but I am pleased with the response so far.
"When we approached the manager's job after Dave Hopkins left we were talking to Mark straight away but this time we are going to leave it open for people to apply.
"We need someone who wants to consolidate and we are working on more finances to secure our place in the league.
"We presume the new manager will want his own players but hopefully he will use them alongside what we have got and what is coming through."
Rossiter added he was pleased the Melksham job had been filled by Calne boss Kelvin Highmore on Tuesday night.
He offered congratulations to both club and coach and said: "In a way that has helped us a bit because I think a few people were waiting to see what happened there first."
Highmore walked out on the Bremhill View club leaving Calne chairman Steve Walker fuming.
It has sparked fears of a player exodus with player's play and supporter's player of the year Steve Casey adding he was already considering his future at the club.
"Frome have asked if I want to play for them or I could go to Melksham or stay with Calne but I am going to see what the rest of the lads do."
Highmore said after three seasons at the club he wanted to leave on a high note after winning promotion to the Screwfix Premier and taking the club to the Les Phillips Cup final.
He said it would not be an easy job for him: "Melksham's a big club crying out for a steer in the right direction.
"They have gone through a bad patch but having the makings of a good team."
